Who We Are
COVID-19 AlertDue to the recent COVID-19 outbreak and our efforts to contain community spread, the Washington Lawyers’ Committee is temporarily transitioning the Workers’ Rights Clinic to a telephonic legal advice service until April 1. Any worker with an employment related matter including unpaid wages, discrimination, family and medical leave act (FMLA) violations, unemployment compensation, workers’ compensation, sexual harassment, barriers to employment, and sick leave violations should contact the Workers’ Rights Clinic via phone at (202) 319-1000 or email at clinic@washlaw.org to schedule a telephonic legal intake appointment.
The Workers’ Rights Clinic can advise workers in all employment-related cases including unpaid wages, overtime, sexual harassment, termination, discrimination, workers’ compensation, family and medical leave, pension benefits, as well as criminal records.
Intakes are conducted on a first come, first served basis. We may not be able to see everyone who attends a clinic, so you are encouraged to arrive as early as possible.
Northwest – every Wednesday — sign up begins at 5 p.m., walk-ins are accepted until 7:30 p.m., first come first served at Bread for the City NW Location, 1525 7th St NW.
Southeast – the first and third Fridays of each month — By appointment only. Call 202-319-1000 to make an appointment. Clinic at ONE DC Black Workers’ Center, 2500 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE.
Southeast – the last Saturday of every month — Walk-ins accepted from 10am-1pm, first come, first served at Bread for the City SE Location, 1640 Good Hope Road SE
