Who We Are

Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts is the leading provider of legal aid and legal education to the New York-area arts community. VLA enables low-income artists and non-profit arts and cultural organizations to obtain low-cost legal information and pro bono legal representation from qualified New York attorneys on a range of issues — such as intellectual property, contract, and corporate formation and governance — that commonly affect them.

Income Guidelines
Not-for-profit organizations or individuals earning less than $30,000 or married couples earning less than $50,000 annually may be eligible for reduced fees or fee waivers.

Individuals or married couples earning more than the income guidelines above may contact VLA to inquire about eligibility for a one-time meeting with a VLA Staff Attorney.

Annual membership fees, which may vary depending on income.
