Description
Volunteer Lawyers Network (VLN) provides free legal assistance to low-income people.
Depending on the specific issues and facts of your case, VLN may provide free legal advice on Juvenile law issues such as CHIPS petitions, CPS issues, Termination of Parental Rights, transferring legal custody as a result of a CHIPS case or CPS investigation, and adoption.
For Adoption cases in 7-County metro, see “VLN Adoption Full Representation.”
Clients with Juvenile law issues should call the VLN intake line to find out what services they are eligible for. Service is available to anyone with a Minnesota Juvenile law issue, even if client lives out of state. However, service is NOT available for clients that are already represented by a public defender.
This service is advice ONLY. Attorneys will not provide full representation. To see if you qualify for free legal services, click on the Application Process tab below and follow the instructions.
Call 612-752-6677, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m, to schedule an appointment. Wait-time for an appointment is usually around 1 week.
