Who We Are
The LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York (LeGaL) operates various legal services including a weekly walk-in legal clinic at the LGBT Community Center (208 W. 13th St.) in Manhattan each Tuesday evening (excluding holidays) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary, but visitors should arrive prior to 6:00 p.m. to have a greater likelihood of being seen. Visitors will receive a consultation with a volunteer attorney who can provide general information, advice and counsel, referrals when possible, but not direct legal representation. The clinic is free, but visitors are encouraged, if possible, to provide a donation to support the clinic’s continued operation. - The walk-in clinic is staffed by attorneys who provide each client with a consultation, brief advice and referrals when appropriate. The issues brought to the walk-in clinic do not have to be related to sexual orientation or gender identity.
