The Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, Inc. is a not-for-profit law office. We provide free legal information, advice and representation to people who can’t afford a lawyer.

At this time we are offering remote services. We are available Monday-Friday 9am-5pm via (315) 793-7000.

- Income up to 200% of the poverty level, with no income limits for seniors 60+, victims of domestic violence, or individuals facing foreclosure.

- We cannot provide full representation in all cases, services may be limited depending on the type of case, funding and staffing. We offer a Legal HelpLine.
The Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, Inc. does not handle criminal cases, only civil matters of the law.
Child support, custody and divorce representation are generally provided to domestic violence victims only, except self help brochures and the Pro Se Divorce Clinic.
For clients seeking living wills, health care proxies, powers of attorney or wills, priority is given to seniors and people with severe disabilities or terminal illness.
For not for profits seeking services, please speak with the Executive Director, services may be available in limited cases.

- What is an Emergency? Imminent loss of public benefits or housing; immediate need for order of protection from domestic violence.
Client should call and have an attorney screen the case.
