The Bronx Defenders

Who We Are

The Bronx Defenders provides holistic, client-centered legal representation to low-income individuals in the Bronx. We represent individuals who have been arrested and charged with crimes, and parents who have been separated from their children. As part of our commitment to the South Bronx community, we have an open-door policy and will provide general legal information, resources, and referrals on legal issues arising from past or current criminal justice involvement for any Bronx resident. Through our community outreach efforts and Voter Enfranchisement Project, The Bronx Defenders educates clients and community members about voting rights and other pathways to political participation. We also collaborate with community-based organizations around the city and state to advocate for policy reform.
