Who We Are

SVLAS provides free legal services in civil cases to the low-income residents of southwestern Virginia. SVLAS has three offices located throughout the region but accepts applications only through our centralized intake unit.  The toll-free number for the intake unit is 1-888-201-2772.  The intake unit accepts applications from Monday through Friday.  Online applications may also be filed on our website: http://www.svlas.org.

Income Guidelines
Up to 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines in some circumstances – we can deduct some work and health related expenses from income to determine financial eligibility. In addition, we will consider your assets in determining eligibility.
Your family’s income should be at or below the following percentage of the federal poverty level

Eligibility Restrictions
We do not accept traffic tickets or criminal cases. We can not provide representation to a person who is incarcerated.
