Who We Are

Founded in 1970, New York Center for Interpersonal Development (NYCID) is a not-for-profit organization on Staten Island that promotes the improvement of human relationships and the strengthening of communities as fundamental to achieving a civil society.

We provide youth, community, and professional development programs. In addition to providing direct mediation and other as dispute resolution services, we also provide dispute resolution programs and workshops that educate and inform the public about constructive problem-solving, effective communication and intercultural awareness.

An intake specialist will return your call between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If you are not available to receive a call during these hours, please indicate that in your message.

Who We Serve

Circumstances and languages in which interpreters are provided

NYCID has limited access to translation services. However, we make every effort to accommodate individuals that need translation services as we understand the importance of being able to communicate in your primary language. The need and ability to access these services will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Income Guidelines

NYCID provides mediation, conflict coaching and other dispute resolution services for the many different types of conflicts that we experience in our lives.

For example: neighbor disputes, small claims, civil and housing court disputes, early intervention and special education services, parent- teen disagreements and challenges, and other family disputes.

Additionally NYCID is the agency designated to coordinate Lemon Law arbitration for Richmond County residents. If your current dispute is not listed here, please contact us to determine what services may be available to you.
