Who We Are

Nassau Suffolk Law Services is a non-profit,  public interest law firm that provides free legal assistance in civil matters to low-income and disabled Long Islanders. The Mental Health Law Project is designed to provide legal assistance in civil matters to persons who are severely and persistently mentally ill, the project focuses primarily on issues relating to basic necessities of life, such as housing, public benefits and access to health care. There are no financial eligibility guidelines, but cases are prioritized based on urgency and program resources.
