Description
Mobilization for Justice, Inc. – Mental Health Law Project
Who We Are
The Mental Health Law Project (MHLP) of Mobilization for Justice (formerly MFY Legal Services) provides advocacy services, including consultation and direct representation, to mental health consumers who are enrolled in CSS programs, persons who are New York/New York eligible, patients who are hospitalized in the psychiatric wards of HHC hospitals, persons deemed seriously and persistently mentally ill under the Reinvestment Act, residents of community residences, supported and supportive housing, and residents of adult homes.
The legal issues include eviction prevention, obtaining and preserving government benefits such as SSI, Medicaid and food stamps, and other legal issues with which enrollees may be presented. The MHLP is available to provide training and consultation to CSS teams, NY/NY service providers and inpatient psychiatric staff at HHC hospitals.
At this time we are offering remote services via an updated phone intake line, email, online intake portals, and social media.
