Mariposa County Court Self-Help Center

The Center is staffed by a Self-Help / Family Law Facilitator who is an attorney trained to provide assistance to self-represented litigants (parties to a lawsuit who do not have an attorney) in handling their legal matters including: dissolution (divorce), legal separation, annulment, child custody/visitation, guardianship of minor, adoption, landlord and tenant information, conservatorship, civil harassment restraining orders, domestic violence restraining orders, simple probates, and limited civil matters.

The Facilitator also acts as the Small Claims Advisor by giving information on Small Claims Court procedures and helping litigants prepare for their Small Claims Court cases.

The Facilitator generally sees people on a drop-in first-come, first-served basis. However, limited appointments are available.
