Legal Aid of North Carolina – Central Intake

Who We Are

Centralized Intake is a work unit of Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) that interviews persons who are calling LANC by telephone and who are seeking legal assistance.  The Central Intake Unit (CIU) provides advice and brief service to eligible clients.  For eligible clients needing additional legal services, CIU staff refers the client to a local LANC office for an additional review of the case.

Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) is a statewide, nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income people in order to ensure equal access to justice and to remove legal barriers to economic opportunity.   LANC operates in all 100 counties of North Carolina through 24 geographically located offices and six statewide projects.  Please note that LANC does not provide legal assistance via E-mail. Rather, please telephone or come to the LANC office to request assistance.
