Who We Are
LAFSBC represents low income and senior clients in critical civil legal issues including eviction, fair housing, foreclosure, domestic violence, elder abuse and neglect, sexual assault, consumer fraud, guardianships, and human trafficking.
LAFSBC’s income eligibility varies by program. In general, housing and guardianship clients need to have an income no more than 200% of the federal poverty level. Income is a consideration in domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse cases but the policy is to assist anyone in immediate need and assist those who can afford an attorney to find one after safety is achieved. Foreclosure and consumer fraud also do not have strict income requirements but income is a consideration along with other factors.
