Foreign-Born Information and Referral Network
FIRN is a nonprofit organization in Howard County, Maryland that empowers immigrants, refugees, asylees and other foreign-born individuals by helping them to access community resources and opportunities. FIRN provides immigration counseling and citizenship classes, interpreting & translation services, English tutoring, information and referrals and a variety of workshops.
FIRN is an experienced, BIA (Board of Immigration Appeals)-accredited provider of immigration counseling services at modest fees for those with limited resources.
FIRN can help with:
- Petitions for relatives and family reunification
 - Work authorization applications
 - Permanent residency applications
 - Citizenship applications and test preparation
 - Answers to immigration inquiries and referrals
 - Assistance with visa processing for relatives abroad
 - Assistance with travel documents
 - Affidavits of support
 - Immigration counseling
 - Guidance on immigration laws and regulations
