Domestic Violence Services

All Idaho Legal Aid Services’ (ILAS) offices provide the following kinds of help to victims of domestic violence:
protection orders
divorce
custody and/or visitation
spousal and child support
In order to be eligible, you must be the following:
victim of domestic violence
referred by domestic violence shelter
a low-income household
without a lawyer

Native American

Native American law involves such issues as:

  • Family law: child custody, and child support
  • Indian Child Welfare Act: child custody, guardianship, child protection, parental rights termination
  • Tribal Court representation
  • Land rights and protection: leasing, rights of way, and trespass
  • Tribal Jurisdiction/Treaty Rights
  • Trust responsibility

TAFI (temporary assistance for families in Idaho)

Apply for our services by phone Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm, Mountain Time; 9:00 am to 2:30 pm Pacific Time (excluding holidays) by dialing 208-746-7541. You may also apply online at any time. Offices are generally open from 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday but local variations occur based on staffing levels and holidays.
Deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired callers can contact us using 7-1-1 or a relay service of their choice. Idaho Legal Aid Services will provide interpreters for non-English speaking call
