Who We Are
The Health Consumer Action Center (HCAC) at the Legal Aid Society of Orange County is part of the statewide Health Consumer Alliance a network of health care advocates, and works with attorneys throughout the state to address systemic issues affecting health care access. HCAC provides legal assistance on private and public health insurance programs. In addition, the HCAC assists clients navigate the health care system, access health care coverage and services, and assists with their medical bills and other health related legal issues. HCAC is also the Ombudsman for the OneCare Connect program ( OCC) in Orange County. OCC combines Medi-Cal and Medicare services operated by CalOptima. Other than direct consumer advocacy, HCAC provides education and outreach presentation on various health topics.
