Who We Serve

Who We Serve Area(s) Statewide Additional Service Area Info We serve all states. Income Guidelines Fees for Service: Individuals who are professionally employed or able to pay a lawyer are asked to pay a low hourly fee for time spent on reviewing and placing the case. Once the case is placed with a law firm, representation is entirely pro bono. Is this organization accessible by wheelchair? Yes Does this organization provide access for the hearing impaired? Yes Eligibility Restrictions For help, you must be experiencing domestic violence. Description of Services We do not represent people at the trial level; we only take cases on appeal. However, we sometimes provide limited consulting to people involved with litigation at the trial level. If your case involves child custody we will probably be able to provide at least limited consulting. In addition to direct appeals, we provide technical assistance, consultations and referrals to individuals or lawyers involved in domestic violence cases we are not handling. Additionally, we do selected policy and law reform work in particular areas, such as custody and abuse. We also provide friend of the court (amicus) briefs in some cases on appeal. Finally, we do trainings for lawyers, advocates, other professionals and judicial personnel.
