Who We Are
Main Desc. The DC Volunteer Lawyers Project is a nonprofit organization that offers free legal services to low-income District of Columbia residents in family law and civil protection order cases.
Our volunteer lawyers provide free legal advice or representation to survivors of domestic violence, in civil protection order, custody/visitation, and divorce cases. We also represent children at risk of harm in high-conflict custody cases.

- Fam DCVLP lawyers help victims with protection orders, custody, child support and divorce and caregivers of at-risk children with questions about custody. You may also call our client advocate for an appointment. Our onsite partners, Community of Hope and Martha’s Table, offer behavior wellness, food assistance and other supportive services.
