Who We Are
The Chief Tenant Advocate advocates for, educates, and provides outreach for tenants in the District of Columbia.

- We offer the following services for tenants only:
– Legal Advice and Representation
– Technical guidance regarding statutes, regulations, and case law
– Technical guidance regarding legal rights and case preparation
– Self-help materials for case preparation
– Assistance in drafting Tenant Petitions and other case materials
– Full/Direct legal representation in cases involving legal issues of District-wide significance
- Emergency Instructions
- What is an Emergency? A tenant displacement resulting from a natural disaster, such as fire or flood, or a tenant displacement resulting from a government action, such as DCRA closing a building for being unsafe.
