Intake Guidelines 

To apply for services contact Crime Victims at 844-303-7233 from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If there is no answer, please leave a message and an intake specialist will return your call as soon as possible.

Services Provided

Crime Victims helps victims with the following legal matters:

• Protective Orders
• Family law – custody, child support, divorce
• Employment in relation to Domestic Violence Issues
• Elder Exploitation and Abuse
• Financial crimes and identity theft
• Housing – helping clients terminate a lease when the crime occurred on the property
• Title IX issues if the crime occurred at school
• Immigration – helping undocumented victims apply for a U visa, or T visa
• Crime Victims Compensation

Eligibility Guidelines

To qualify for free legal services from Crime Victims, an applicant must meet the income, asset, and immigration requirements established by its funding sources.

Crime Victims will always attempt to find a funding source that will permit representation for persons who are unable to afford the services of a private attorney.

Client applications are reviewed based on financial eligibility and other requirements. Clients who are unsure whether they qualify for services can call the intake phone number, 844-303-7233.

What if I have an emergency?

Examples of urgent matters include but are not limited to:

• Any hearing within ten (10) days if it involves family violence or the abuse or neglect of a child
• Any hearing within seven (7) days of the hearing
• Homeless applicants
• Family violence or child abuse/neglect within the past seven (7) days {including threats made with a weapon}
• Served with lawsuit and deadline within ten (10) days
