Who We Are
Bronx Legal Services focuses primarily on eviction prevention in Housing Court and related administrative proceedings. The Housing Unit represents tenants in non-payment and holdover cases, NYCHA termination of tenancy actions, administrative hearings related to housing subsidies, and proceedings demanding repairs of hazardous conditions. The Unit also pursues targeted advocacy and litigation in state and federal court on behalf of individuals, tenant groups, or other entities focused on fair housing and housing affordability. As part of the Housing Unit’s broad-based approach to advocacy, the practice touches on various related issues, including public benefits, family, and foreclosure law.
