Description
The Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans’ Vetlaw Program provides direct legal services to Minnesota’s veterans with a focus on removing legal barriers to housing and employment stability. Staff can provide referrals, legal information, and legal advice to veterans with a wide range of legal issues. Representation services are limited to income-eligible veterans with a legal issue directly related to housing or employment stability. Any former service member with a legal issue outside of staff expertise will be provided with referrals to further information and resources. The Vetlaw staff is only able to advise on Minnesota law but can provide referrals for Minnesota veterans with out-of-state legal matters. If your family/household gross income falls under 500% of the Federal poverty guidelines you would be eligible to speak with an attorney, at no cost. Veterans’ family/household gross income must be under 300% to be considered for full representation.
To request legal services through the Vetlaw Program, veterans may call our office at 651-200-4750 or email us at vetlaw@mac-v.org.
