Who We Are
Legal Aid of Sonoma County has provided services to Sonoma County’s indigent population for over 50 years. Founded in 1958 and incorporated in 1983 as a private non profit, Legal Aid provides crisis legal services to low-income families and children.
Legal Aid provides assistance with restraining orders through the SAFE Program (services for domestic violence and civil harassment victims), assistance with guardianships through the C.A.P.P. Program (services for child abuse and neglect victims), assistance with habitability and eviction defense services through our HOME Program, and assistance with elder abuse and civil elder law matters through our Elder Outreach Program. You must live in Sonoma County or have a legal matter in Sonoma County. Potential clients must come to the office in person during business hours to be screened for eligibility for services. All Legal Aid services are offered in English and Spanish.
