Who We Are
The Seattle Office for Civil Rights (SOCR) promotes equal rights and social justice for all Seattle. • We investigate discrimination in housing, employment, public places and contracting. • We enforce Seattle’s labor standards ordinances, including Minimum Wage, Wage Theft, Paid Sick and Safe Time and Job Assistance (regulates the use of criminal history in hiring and employment). • We coordinate the Race and Social Justice Initiative, a citywide effort to end institutionalized racism and race-based disparities in Seattle. • We offer free training and presentations to community groups and businesses. • We advise the Mayor and City Council on human rights. • We work with local and national groups on human rights. If you believe you have been discriminated against, please contact us. Our services are free and we will provide a language interpreter. We do not ask about citizenship or immigration status. Call us at 206-684-4500 or visit us at 810 Third Avenue, Suite 750 in downtown Seattle. For more information go to www.seattle.gov/civilrights.
