Who We Are
The Elder Law Clinic is a program of the Wake Forest University School of Law. Law students get practical experience under the supervision of an attorney. During the school year, the Clinic provides free legal services to the community in Forsyth and surrounding counties. We also serve as a resource center for lawyers and other professionals. In a partnership with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, the Elder Law Clinic offers a unique opportunity to learn about medical and health law issues of older clients.
Who We Serve

- We serve any client over 60 who is eligible for our services and has a legal need with which we can assist.
- Cirumstances and languages in which interpreters are provided
- We don’t speak any foreign languages, but there are interpreters here at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center that we can use, if a client does not speak or understand English well.
- Income Guidelines
- For a household of one, the monthly income must be less than $1700, and for a household of two the monthly income must be less than $2200.
- Your family’s income should be at or below the following percentage of the federal poverty level

- The Elder Law Clinic cannot accept all cases. The intake procedures and criteria for case selection change from time to time. We see the majority of those on our waiting list between September 1 and May 1. When the law students are out of school for the summer, we don’t see new clients. However, that’s a great time to apply.
